Let's take inventory management as an example. We worked with a company that has deep expertise in end-of-life inventory management and disposal. They are a software services company. They offer inventory management systems that identify, document, and ease the disposal of controlled and hazardous inventory. Their solutions connect to the right, and most economical service, say, to dispose of batteries or chemicals in compliance with local and national regulations. It works. But could the service be more comprehensive and useful for their clients? We designed a warehouse kiosk for them that identifies products through an array of sensors, cameras, and scanners – kind of like the reverse of a check-out kiosk at the grocery store. Coupled with their databases and sorting technology, the physical products can be quickly sorted and sent to the right place. What could you do if you weren't limited to software?
